New Trends in Site Maps

When was the last time you were excited about looking up a site map? Yes, I hear you - the answer is ten thousand years back or more. Site maps are boring, and we don't really expect much from them. In most cases, they are an apology for poorly designed site navigation. In many cases they are hopelessly out of date. I could go on. But here is something interesting. Poonam Agarwal's article titled Changing Design Trends for Site Maps does a great job of showcasing some of the trendiest site maps around. Worth a look.

  1. I absolutely agree with you Vikas. Site Map is the most neglected page on the web site. The article is indeed a great showcase of cool site maps. I think the lack of creativity, time and resource availability make it even more difficult to concentrate on making site maps beautiful.

But I do see in the article that Poonam has suggested Raptivity Web Expert as a tool for creating site maps. I am going to have a look at that because I WANT NICE SITE MAPS !

  2. With social media, sitemaps will finally come to the mainstream and become indispensable.

Imagine being able to navigate your social network, walls, tweets and what not through a beautifully designed and "personalized" site map!

Thanks for pointing to this article!

  3. The another Great use of Sitemap is in SEO. After Google, Yahoo amd MSN are Agreed to support Standard rule of If your site is properly designed with Proper structure then You have more chances in SERPS.
